So I survived until Monday, and basically I was better. I was feeling a touch unwell on Saturday if you want the gross details see Natasha is No Juliet.

I was going to mention the incident to the doctor when I next saw him in a couple of weeks for a blood test thing. So I was sitting on the couch innocently organising the kid’s job books and talking to my support worker F; when my mother entered the room.
Note: Never ever agree to an attached Granny flat without locks, no matter how much your spouse loves his mother in law. It’s a trap. Sometimes when I am bleeding or fainted or something similarly harmless my worrywart kids tell my mother on me. I had a point, now I’m confused.

So my mother enters the room and says “Have you made a doctor’s appointment yet?” in front of everyone.
I of course tell her that I no longer need one. My husband (as usual) and my children turn on me and 6 of my closest family members start berating me and trying to force me to call a doctor. This forces me to explain to F. what they are raving about, then for some strange reason she turns on me. I think its resentment because apparently she forced herself to go to the doctor that very morning. No I can’t think that; F. is an angel & my favourite person (& Charlie’s), clearly she misguidedly thinks I might be sick. Led on by the clamourings of my evil were-family.

I now have to see a doctor Thursday morning and waste my extremely valuable F. support time. Bah!
So to all the people that wrote encouraging me to go to a doctor, you win, I’m going. And my evil husband even used my loyal commenters against me during “The Great Gang Up”.

Thursday was the first appointment I could get that didn’t clash with another meeting. Tomorrow is Writer’s Circle; I will not miss that, even if the worst happens the KSP Centre seems quite open to ghosts. School starts and National Disability funding meeting Wednesday, and now I have a doctor’s appointment and two Psychology appointments (2 daughters) on Thursday. And I’m desperately trying to schedule a psych appointment for Tab & I (but it is hard to skip school time when you’re in year 11).
I almost forgot to say Yahhhhhhhhhh we have funding to see psychologists again. Tabby & I can get some more neurofeedback. And some professionals can have a shot at dialling back Cat & Alex’s crazy. Neurofeedback is responsible for my ability to actually write a blog or join Writer’s Circle. It is the greatest therapy ever; see more at a post I did on Neurofeedback.

I would also not have been able to write my complaint letter to 18 politicians about Centrelink (Welfare Agency). I have had 3 replies from staff plus a call from an actual Senator on Saturday, all really helpful & interested. The Senator asked my permission to use us as an example; just what I wanted because its too late for us. Today I got the call; a group working for the department are looking into the situation. She said she had already found a few problems and wanted a more detailed discussion of my experiences. What a lovely lady; she asked about the younger girls and sounded jubilant when I said they were still managing mainstream school, and she made sure we had support and were safe for the short term. She was also very complimentary & seemed very keen to seek improvements. Fantastic call, she is going to get back to me about individual adjustments; like not sending the girls SMS notifications because it freaks them out, but meanwhile they are investigating changes to benefit all clients with Autism and/or Mental Health issues.

I may make a difference! Isn’t that unbelievable? I’ve always been frustrated because I believe almost everyone would rather help than hurt others but so often people in power seem misguided or ill informed. So communicating and being listened to by people in charge is incredible. This proves it, anyone can make a difference.
Focus on the Positive
&
Communicate, Communicate, Communicate!

But I still have to go to the doctor.
