Award-A-Polooza

Or quick before something bad happens to my computer.

Here are the rules:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you and pass it on.
  2. Share the award on your blog
  3. Share random facts about yourself
  4. Tag on 10 bloggers and tell them that they are nominated.

Thank you very much WindSweptChildOnAShootingStar just because I am no longer nominating doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate receiving it, especially from you.  Visit this blog it is full of beautiful insights into one person’s autistic journey.

Seven facts about me:

  1. My favourite physical feature (of mine) is the mole on my cheek, closely followed by a mole on my lower back (no photo)

2. Charlie & Smokie are camera hogs.  See a camera aimed at someone else push and pose until someone takes their photo.

3. I have a scar on my knuckle from cutting a frozen orange.  I was standing behind my grandmother when the knife slipped, but I didn’t want to upset her so I put a tissue on it and went outside to my mother who was hanging washing.  My mother almost fainted at all the blood and my grandma (a tough farmer’s wife) fixed my hand.

4. I have an even older scar on my nose and lip from a dog when I was 7.  I was visiting my Dad for the second time and I was being reintroduced to his housemate’s Great Dane (big dog).  He jumped up and put his paws on my head, he slipped and his claws sliced through my nose & lip.  The house-mates walked me to the bathroom where my dad was shaving to show him.  He saw my bloody face in the mirror and almost fainted.  Then they had to settle us both down.  One of them gave me a blue and white panda I still have.  I got stitches which didn’t hurt as much as my father’s grip on my hand.  I didn’t cry or get upset at all, hurrah autism, my dad cried a lot.  I was not scared because it was not a frightening incident, the dog slipped and immediately seemed to worry about the blood, so it didn’t effect my love of dogs or that dog a bit.

5.  I love 80’s kids shows, I am watching “Ghostbusters” (cartoon original not movie) as we speak, er as I type.

6. I am allergic to so many things it messed up the allergy testing.

7.I almost never eat breakfast as I find food particularly hard to face first thing in the morning.

Thank you very much to the hilarious & wonderful Tim at The Pathless Woods.  Visit this website for another perspective on autism.  I know ‘autism’ I personally have never heard about this, but Tim is an expert.  By the way I think ‘autism’ is some sort of head thingy; ask Tim.

Random facts.

  1. When I started at high school I wanted to join a club.  So I joined the UFO Spotter’s Club, it imploded 3 meetings in because of infighting between the two main factions; aliens are evil vs. aliens are nice.
  2. I can still touch my nose with my toe.
  3. I am scared of spiders especially the big & (in our area) non venomous ones.
  4. My favourite bug is the praying mantis.
  5. I have dreams of a previous life where I was a woman in Italy, a member of the Sabine tribe around the time of the founding of Ancient Rome.  Look it up yourself, Lazy!
  6. I believe I’ve seen Santa in his sleigh in the sky the night before Christmas Eve.
  7. I wanted to live like the people in the British comedy “The Good Life”; ie. self sufficiently.  My husband and mother not only laugh at this idea but actively stop me from making any moves in that direction.  I’ve had to sneak veggies and fruit into the garden amongst the flowers.

I have a bit of a surprise here..

No nominees, I have no excuses I’m just too sleepy to nominate people besides I am the only one I can think of who is worthy.  Alternately I am lying and have given reasons previously.

Award 3.  This is all Tim’s idea.  The Pathless Woods.  He’s a bad man, rush to his site right now!

I’ve been looking for an emoticon for someone bowing but the closest I can find is this one:

And I’m putting this emoticon up simply because I can’t stop laughing when I see it:
